It's important you know this is Brian posting today. You'll understand why that's relevant as you read on...
Today was a good day for Mom and baby Braden. No news for Braden, which is exactly what we're hoping for every day. Mom actually got some excitement in the day when the nurses agreed to let her change rooms. Our previous room had a wonderful view of the hospital lobby. Seriously...the window was to the inside of the hospital. You don't realize how the sun helps regulate your sleep schedule until you go 5 days without seeing it. The new room has a great view of the adjacent building 50 feet away, but hey, beggars can't be choosers. It'll sure be nice in the morning to have sunlight in the window.
As you know, time is the best medicine for Braden now. The longer he stays put, the more he grows. It's an incredible miracle - this week alone, his weight will increase 20%. You all are helping keep our spirits up, and we're doing everything we can to make the best of our situation. In that vein and in support of my son, I'm officially starting the "Growth for Braden" campaign. I will not be shaving my mustache until Braden is born. As he grows, so will my 'stache. If things go well, I'll be looking like Tom Selleck in the delivery room. If you feel so moved, feel free to join in!

Chuck will never look like Tom Selleck, but your dad's going to join you in the "Growth for Braden" campaign. Great idea! It's a way for you guys to pull together as a team to cheer Braden on to full term!

Growth for Braden! Love it!! Tom Selleck is hot.
ReplyDeleteLove ya'll more than you know. Miss you terribly.
Love,
Polly
I am so glad you will be able to see the sun. What a difference that will make. I think about you all everyday and pray for you all every night. I will come visit again later in the week.
ReplyDeleteI have to say I was a little confused when I first read the post. I know you (brian) and Julia each post to the blog. When I read about the "growth for Braden" stache campaign, I had to read it twice. I thought maybe Julia was going to try and grow a stache. That just did not seem right. Glad to know it is dad's campaign. What a great way to support Braden. Bringing back the stache!
Goodnight to you all!
-Marissa
the best part of this blog was I thought it was Julia the whole way through. I then realized she probably wont be growing any facial hair, ha. Looking forward to seeing the 'stache this week.
ReplyDeleteOh. I am joining in on the "Growth for Braden" stache.
ReplyDeleteNothing like a blond mustache. ladies.
Well, considering my lack of thick facial hair this could get interesting. One porn stache is on the way!

Well, Brian....I can grow my mustache, but it will look a bit funny! Most certainly, I can keep up the campaign through the constant prayer and vision that Braden will have a mustache when he is born! May his sweet spirit keep up his steady growth and active sports in mom's belly.
ReplyDeleteLove, Katherine
Haha, LOVE the stache challenge - can we get some week by week picture updates on the blog?!? :)
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you have a room with a view and things with Braden are good. See you this afternoon!
Great to hear the updates! I agree...you need to post 'stache pics soon! ;) Thinking of my band buddy and neighbor throughout this journey of yours! I just know he's going to stay put till he's done! :)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see this salt n pepa 'stache! Thank goodness it isn't Huli. : )
ReplyDeleteP.S. (I'm so happy you have sunlight now, although I definitely wouldn't call it a room with a "view," what with the rocky roof and the bldg across the way!)
Awesome news on the growth of Braden and the stache, now I have to ask; is Julia going to set herself free of the shackles of the razor as well?
ReplyDeleteArmpit and leg hair be damned!
Now you have to start posting updates with pictures moving forward.
I was thinking about your mustache... When Braden makes it to term, we'll have to tie your 'stache back with blue ribbons!! None of that mustache WAX allowed. Ewee, you and Dad would both look gross in a handlebar waxed 'stache complete with the curl at the end!! You'll have to let your hair grow, too so it will look "balanced!" Of course, Dad has little hope there! I'm hoping for a L-O-N-G wait for Braden.. Full term!! Yes!

Thanks for the post, Brian! So happy to hear that Braden is growing every day. All the thoughts & prayers must be working! I love the "Growth for Braden" campaign. I will participate...I can't grow a "stache" but I'll vow not to shave my legs. I'll have hairy legs by tomorrow, and for sure a forest by the time Braden comes to term.
ReplyDeleteLove you guys so much!!!!
Gregory (aka lil' G, soon to be hairy G)
Hi there. My name is Emily Zimmerman. I know your mom, Donna through TSFL and she sent us this website to follow baby Braden's progress. I am pregnant with a baby girl and am actually due the same day..... Feb 26th. I just wanted to chek in on you guys and offer my prayers and support to you both. I can't imagine how scary this must be for you, but just remember that God is good..... and He will get you through this. Keep him baking in there and before we know it, Braden and Lexi can meet up for a playdate once they are both born!! :) Hang in there and stay strong! WOO HOO for getting a room with a view BTW! :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the 'stache idea! But, Brian - did you really have to encourage others to join in? I mean, c'mon don't I already have it bad enough that my husband is growing a mushroom mullet?
ReplyDeleteLove you both!
-Melissa
I'm happy to say I can't grow a 'stache. Do you want me to let the arm pit hair go instead? Just say the word and I'll do it! XOXO Whit
ReplyDeleteHowdy neighbor! I'm so happy you're doing blogging this journey and we finally met. You guys are in our prayers.

I'm signed up for Growth for Braden representing the bald and 'stashed. Bri and I surfed iPhone last night looking for the best 'stache app to try styles on our ugly mugs. Style is important here! I might even throw in a dye-job. I must be making up for never growing a pony-tail or fro when I had the chance. Who else is in?
